Well, the ability gives "Sidestep Secret (Su): Your innate understanding of the universe has granted you preternatural reflexes and the uncanny ability to step out of danger at the very last second. Add your Charisma modifier (instead of your Dexterity modifier) to your Armor Class and all Reflex saving throws. Your armor’s maximum Dexterity bonus applies to your Charisma instead of your Dexterity." So, the summoner without the eidolon summoned would replace DEX with CHA when computing AC and Reflex. He still uses DEX when computing CMD. Since when the eidolon is summoned, the synthesist is one body, using the the physical stats of the eidolon, and can use all of his own abilities and gear, except for his armor, the same changes are in effect. The synthesist would replace DEX with CHA when computing AC and Reflex. He still uses DEX when computing CMD. The Sidestep Secret is a mental ability of the summoner's and doesn't disappear just because his body changed. It would also be effective he were under an Alter Self spell effect or a polymorph. It works. AC is the easiest thing to get on a synthesist, so if this was the only draw, it may not be worth the dip level. Especially since the BAB +0 of the first level for the oracle puts you at -1 to hit versus a straight synthesist. But, since you are also getting up to 5 cure light wounds spells a day you can cast without relying on someone else, it helps survivability. Divine Favor is a good spell to take due to the luck bonus type, which is rare. Bless is also a good buff spell, unless you are traveling with a bard, then the moral bonus is overridden by the bard. So, if you often have time to buff before going into battle, you are fighting at or above par. If you get caught by surprise often, you are a little subpar in the to hit department. Be careful on your curse choice and this looks like an okay to good dip.
