Gateway M275 series A friend in my gaming circle purchased a Gateway Tablet, which is a hybrid notebook/tablet PC running Windows XP, earlier this week. He was quite impressed with the gadget and he got it at an excellent price ($1500 CDN, for a floor demo model from Best Buy. This is significantly less than retail which was at $2100 CDN for the unit). We all use laptops during play and so the gaming room is filled with 7 or 8 laptops at any one time. The Gaateway tablet obstructed view at the table less, seemed easier to work with in terms of taking notes during battle and was inifinitely more intuitive to use as a .pdf reader. Top marks for the .pdf reading use. I have a relatively new Laptop, a 2.0 ghz IBM T30, so I am not in the market for a Tablet PC right yet. However, based I what I saw last night at the gaming table, I must admit, I was very intrigued at the Gateway Hybrid solution. The very thin form factor and large screen had a definite "oooooooh" factor. The intel video chipset was a deterrent though. I would prefer a Radeon or NVidia GO chipset. Still, count me in the very interested column on this one.
