One dark and stormy night. In a small town called Grimshire, (or Grim City as the local draconic youth would refer to it as), some odd 200 kilometers west of Eskaea, lives the Duktak family. In what only a very generous, civilized humanoid would call an over-glorified shack, Levitas, his mother, and 3 younger half brothers are crammed in to 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. While racism isn't a big issue in this day and age, the people of Grimshire keep the Dragonborn population in slums as much as they can manage. The majority of the persons there believe that the Dragonborn are from an accursed sign, and that they are a begrudging folk. Ergo, the Dragonborn are, typically, discriminated against. Levitas spent his first 15 years this way, working full-time at the market across the street; helping the upper class characters haul their fruits and fish, and sweeping the sidewalk. Mostly the more fortunately financed folk would only be passing through. Typically, his day would consist of being ordered around, treated like dirt and sent home with just a few extra coins to throw in the wishing well, hoping for a miracle. One early morn, as Levitas was just heading out the door in order to make it to work before the sun made it to the sky, his mother told him to sit down- he's not going to work today. She took him down to a lake nearby and told him to look at a monument that had been erected in about 40 feet in to the lake. It was smashed, all that was standing was a marble statue, what she told him was a Dragonborn, from the knees down. He'd heard old folklore about a divine messenger of Bahamut coming to Grimshire about 20 years ago. He'd come to spread the word of a great terror to follow him. However, the locals captured him and he was never heard from again. She told him that that messenger was his Father. The town agreed to erect the statue in order to appease the Dragonborn populus, but soon after, it was "mysteriously" destroyed. Levitas left that day, and never looked back to Grimshire, his family, his stupid little shack or his lousy job. Since then, he's been wandering from place to place, spreading the word of Bahamut. In his spare time, he's studied the ways that a holy warrior would, as he's dreamt to become, and he's living off of what churches will provide him with, be it food, shelter or simply advice. Now, he's lodging in an old warehouse on the south end of Dalmire that a local said he hadn't needed in ages. He's working part-time at the dinky little inn that has the pissed off weasel on the sign; sweeping... again. The last 2 doors on the left are yours, if the window starts to shake any, find me, I have a section of the caretakers office out back of the hotel. Just come on in and ask for Levi.
