Grab the binoculars, Tacoma’s tall ships are almost in sight.

The two dozen or so ships coming for the city’s four-day Tall Ships Festival will arrive today after a Parade of Sail to the Thea Foss Waterway. Here’s what you need to know:

When
The ships will leave the Vashon Island ferry terminal about 1 p.m., cross Commencement Bay and sail down the Ruston Way waterfront. The parade is to end about 3 p.m. at the mouth of the Thea Foss Waterway.

Best place to watch
On public land along Ruston Way from the Ruston city limits to Old Town Tacoma.

Weather
Partly cloudy in the morning with sun in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s.

On Television
Live coverage begins at 3 p.m. on TV Tacoma (cable Channel 12 in Tacoma, Channel 21 in most areas of Pierce County on Comcast). It will replay at 9 p.m.
