I think that you've gotten mixed up. I pity people and you run the site. Not visa-versa.

Also, where are you getting the idea that iPods are registered to a single computer? If they were, then upgrading would render them completely useless. You would be able to put your own music on it, if you had a cable and iTunes. I found a cable/car charger set online for $19.95 and iTunes is free for download at Apple's website.

Right, iPods are not registered to a particular computer, the iTunes software is. Apple wants you to own multiple iPods; one for you, the spouse, each kid, etc.
