Trampier was an early artist for TSR, and was the guy responsible for the "Wormy" 4-page comic in early Dragon Magazines. Some consider it an awesome comic series. He also did the "idol" cover of the 1st edition PHB. Trampier, due to unknown reasons, simply quit and left the industry in 1982 or so, literally going missing. He moved, didn't leave forwarding, etc. -- he completely vanished. He was accidentally tracked down in the early 90's, appearing in a newspaper story about cab driving - he was driving a cab in Illinois! He has since stated a desire to remain anonymous to anyone seeking him out, and that's the way it remains.

Tom Wham, an early TSR game designer (currently a librarian in Wisconsin) is his brother-in-law, and Tom has said that as far as he knows, all is well with Dave, so it's sad to see a talented guy chuck it all, but I also wish him well.

Quite possibly as well. I was going by the two fighters by her that could be Regdar and Tordek, and the halfling rogue which could be Lidda.
