We were talking online one evening when she said "I have to go for a minute. Talk to Sean!" I was suddenly talking to someone new, and somehow we got into a conversation about Lord of the Rings, wherein we discovered our similar geekness. He had to go back to his dorm, but he im'd me from there, and we continued to talk. I had to get off the computer so my little brother could do his homework, so he asked me if I could call, and I did, and what I remember is that he surprised me with his twang on the phone (the boy is from Kentucky). We chat, hours and hours pass, and somehow I mentioned that I was probably going to go to my senior prom, even though I didn't have a date. Without hesitating, he said "I'll take you if you want", and I was so startled I said yes. (Note: I didn't really date in high school, so having someone ask me out was a totally unexpected event). The next night, we talked online and on the phone again. The night after that, we were iming back and forth, and he complained about being hungry. I said he should go get something to eat. He paused for a bit, and then asked if I wanted to go with him. I was floored, considering Oglethorpe is about 40 minutes away from my house, but I said yes, of course, and ran off to change back out of my pyjamas. So he drives over. When I opened the front door, he stared at me for a second, and when I asked why, he just smiled. We got to Arby's just before it closed, messily ate, and drove back. I didn't want him to leave so soon, so I suggested we go for a short (hah) walk. We ended up walking for hours, accidentally-on-purpose bumping into each other. He kept scaring me with a story about cats in the storm drain so I'd jump and he could catch me and hold me as we walked, and he rubbed my arms to warm them up.When we got back, we sat on the front porch and talked for a while. Eventually he said "I'd like to kiss you, but I'm not sure if it's right on a first date." I spluttered about how if he didn't kiss me, I was going to kiss him. So  we did. And that's that...we're still together, almost two years later.</blockquote>
