Have you made a template into a level progression, like monstrous progression in SS?

I'm interested in seeing if people have turned templates into level progressions in a fashion similar to monstrous progressions from Savage Species. Right now, in House Rules, we're trying to work out the bugs in a progression for a template in a high-level game, and might try this as an idea for different options for advancement as opposed to normal epic leveling (since the characters are about to hit epic levels. Go take a look at the progression my friend worked up for the Paragon Template.

Has anyone else changed a template into a level progression? How did it go over?

Other than something like Dragon Disciple (for Half-Dragon), which I'm not too keen on overall (because it spreads a +4 ECL template over 10 levels, which I think is ridiculous), did this work for anyone? Would you do it again?

Cool. I'd suggested that on EN World the day the book officially came out. I was annoyed that they didn't cover this subject at all. I'd really been hoping for a vampire level progression. So I had to come up with my own.

Sure, why not? One big difference is that the creature type changes right off the bat, which is rather asymetrical with how the transformational PrC's work (where you don't change types until the end of the level progression).

"project- metamorphous"

yes I think this a good idea and can provide some fun opportunities In Game.

I allowed one of my PCs to "start" becoming a Half-Dragon (more or less) and spread out over several level advancements.
It was sort of a "work-in-progress" as I was tweaking a few things here and there and unfortunatley the player had to leave the group before I got everything ironed out, but I liked the process and it made for a lot of fun "In Game"
