OOC: I'll remember tag OOC next time. This was not Jubali or any character speaking to you. This was player to player. I'm assuming this is why you think Edward knows Jubali is trying to determine if Myrken is lying. She would not reveal that to Edward who she doesn't know. This exercise is now a fairly random party that doesn't know each other forced into a situation. Jubali and Dom are bard and cleric you've just met. No need to beg. Myrken will transport us there or the world will end. Up to him. The characters should not need to waste a 5th or 7th level spell slot when the King's archmage with a teleportation code is standing in front of us telling us the world will end if we don't make it there and recover the sword. That is sufficient leverage to motivate the archmage to spend his resources to get us where we need to go, otherwise we all die, right? If the archmage is telling the truth, he'll spend his resources on travel to help us preserve ours for more important matters. If he refuses on behalf of the king to transport us there, you can be fairly certain he's lying about the time limit and when the world will end. We will press that advantage since the DM was kind enough to furnish us with an archmage and a powerful king. At the very least, he will supply the scroll. I would suggest Edward flat out tell him that it would be in the king's and Myrken's best interests to ensure we reach the location of our target without having to expend magic he knows we will need to accomplish the task. Use the logical argument, "No one would know that better than you, Myrken. So procure me a scroll or transport us there yourself. We'll need every bit of magic I can muster to save the world."
