Campaign Background Blurb: In the beginning, the universe was a place of chaos, the four elemental armies fighting for dominance. Fire clashed with Water, Earth with Air. Powerful magic arose from where the elementals and their Lords made violent contact as thousands of these pure beings were vanquished, their essences mixing every sort of strange way. Out of this raw power was born the Tree of Life and its many aspects, known today as the Fey; its primary personification however was the enigmatic being known as Allesandra, the Sylvan Lady, or Fey Queen. Making use of her incredible charisma and diplomatic abilities, she was able to convince the Elemental Lords, all considered to be her Fathers, to cease their destructive war of ambition for the sake of her most beautiful Tree realm. As a result, innumerable elemental warriors stood down and withdrew to their respective planes. Their one-time battlefield spread far beyond the main body of the Life Tree, creating the Prime Material Plane, where all the elements are represented in some capacity. The fey were not a warlike folk though, and needed some protection from the many possible cosmic horrors that existed in the universe at that time, so their Queen wished to use the once destructive elemental armies for protection. She did not want however, because of the possibility of future clashes, wish all four armies to be represented, so she struck a deal with her fathers; the Lords of Earth and Water, the two more orderly of the elements, would stand guard over the Tree first, while Fire and Air would take their turn sometime in the distant future. In return for their service, the fey would give the Guardian elements some of the Tree’s magic, spreading it through their Kingdoms. On the Prime, the sylvan magic became responsible for the predominance of mortal, ocean and land-dwelling life. Centuries past in relative peace and the races of the prime built great cities and empires both and land and in the sea. But such tranquility would not last long. In an act of the vilest betrayal, Sekolah the Devil Shark, daughter of the Lord of Water, murdered her father and took control of his forces. She then launched a ruthless surprise offensive on the Earth Lord, finally routing his armies and slaying the great one at the base of the Tree of Life. In response to the routing of the earth elementals, the successful servants of Sekolah flooded the lands of the Prime. Whole mortal empires were swept under massive waves, while others split into a thousand small islands and others sank beneath the now near infinitely deep seas. Nothing but petty island realms remain today, surrounded by black, salty and mostly inhospitable waters, while the fey are besieged by the Devil Shark, hoping for salvation from their distant Air and Fire kin. It is a world on the edge of a conflict between the most incredible forces, but hardly one without hope…. Deities: Allesandra the Fey Queen (I) Alignment: Chaotic Good Portfolio: Plants, Animals, Beauty, Love, Hope Domains: Chaos, Good, Plants, Animal, Magic, Trickery Favored Weapon: Soul Pierce (Shortbow) Queen of the Fey and Guardian of Life, Allesandra continues to inspire mortals to resist despair and battle against Tyranny wherever it seeks to grab hold. Only through freedom and balance can peace prosper... Sekolah the Devil Shark (I) Alignment: Lawful Evil Portfolio: Oceans, Sharks, War, Tyranny Domains: Law, Evil, Water, Strength, War, Death Favored Weapon: Three Strikes (Trident) Sekolah is half sister to Allesandra and teaches her aquatic followers that the entire world is their rightful hunting grounds, a principle that can only be confirmed through the conquest and subjugation of the land dwelling races. The Wayward Lords: these Elemental Gods are considered distant from the Prime, only acting through their adepts and the rare cleric. Tempest (L) Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Portfolio: the sky, the winds, ship travel, fate Domains: Chaos, Air, Travel, Fate Favored Weapon: The Silent Sting (Rapier) Luminox (L) Alignment: Neutral Good Portfolio: the sun, comfort, purity, crafts Domains: Good, Fire, Sun, Craft Favored Weapon: Purity's Reach (Longsword) The Silent One (L) Alignment: Lawful Neutral Portfolio: homestead, agriculture, crafts, dwarves Domains: Law, Earth, Protection, Craft, War Favored Weapon: Heavy Burden (Warhammer) The God of Earth fell in battle, but much of his essence is still said to exist in the steadfast stone and metals that compose many of the Prime's islands.
