A quick reminder that the 2008 ENnie Judge Nomination Period has begun. This is the process whereby next year's judges are elected, and announced at the ENnies ceremony, along with this year's winners. Confusing, eh? The point is, though - if you want to be one of the five ENNies judges next year, you need to throw your hat into the ring now. [bq]The ENWorld & GenCon RPG Awards have opened the nomination period for judges for the 2008 awards. From today until 6pm EDT July 30th, nominations are being accepted for ENnies judges. In order to enter the race for one of the five ENnie Judge spots, each would-be judge must download and fill out a nomination form from www.ennieawards.com/voting.html (and don't forget to vote for the 2007 ENnie Awards while you are there!) The winners will be announced at the ENnies ceremony at Gen Con Indy on Friday the 17th of August, 2007. Choosing the judges this early facilitates shipping product and gives them additional time to evaluate each submission. Judging products is hard work requiring thousands of pages of reading and extensive consultation with other judges on the panel but it can be deeply rewarding, giving fans exposure to new products they might not otherwise have considered and allowing them to influence the hobby as a whole by highlighting excellence in the industry. If you think that you would be able to devote the time and energy needed to adjudicate the hundreds of products publishers will submit this year, please consider nominating yourself for a judging spot for this year’s awards. Or, if you know of another individual who you think would be a strong addition to our judging panel, please consider submitting his or her name for nomination.
