The advantages/disadvantages of making an 'untouchable'?

OTOH, a melee brute monster with this "untouchability" thing could be awesome.
Only until your PC's can cast fly.

Or just trap it behind walls of stone and ignore it.

Or, if you hate your caster PC's so much you could just punch them in the face until they get the idea and stop playing mages... ;)

But, but, you just said....

which doesnt require the players or the GM to think.

You say this like it's a negative thing.

What would be the effects of creating PC's and/or NPC's that are effectively walking AMFs?
every good amf would need his own theme band.

Stop.
Hammer time

can't touch this.

I've been reading the Eisenhorn book series (WH40K) who employees untouchables, people immune to psycher abilities (their version of magic)....What would be the effects of creating PC's and/or NPC's that are effectively walking AMFs?

Funny I've been reading the Ravenor series.

Have to say it's an interesting idea but since so much of what PC characters do is related to or dependent upon some form of magic it would take massive alterations to the game to incorporate as anything other than an occasional NPC oddity.

It could make a for a cool NPC or encounter. Maybe not for a PC, b/c it would be a pain to balance encounters, heal, and so on.

Instead of an AMF, which is kinda extreme and causes rules funkiness, maybe you could make them immune to magic ala golems. That way they're not supressing everything nearby.
