What have I told you about going out at this hour of the night?"</span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: deepskyblue">"But--"</span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: paleturquoise">"Don't you "but" me, missy! You get that backside of yours into an apron and attend to your duties before I take you over my knee right here and now! Get!"</span> <em>The innkeeper thrusts one beefy arm toward the kitchen, her index finger pointing the way. Eloise fairly leaps toward the kitchen, moving faster than the crew has ever seen her move before.</em></p><p></p><p><span style="color: paleturquoise">"And coming back with a gaggle of men, no less,"</span> <em>the innkeeper says, turning toward the crew.</em> <span style="color: paleturquoise">"Oh, you're the crew of the <em>Pander Ban</em>. Oh! Is my Bennie with you?"</span> <em>A hopeful light fills the innkeeper's eyes, and she cranes her neck as if trying to see around everybody to where Captain Ben might be hiding.</em></p></blockquote><p></p>
