Hello all. My name is K. David Ladage. I have been away for a long time (far too long, to be honest). Back in 2000-2005, I was the primary author, co-founder, and promoter for Jagged Edge Games. JEG was a hobby-project company and the primary line of materials revolved around the UMBRAGIA campaign setting. We had some moderate success. Between 2005 and 2010, my writing partner (Richard Bowman) and I had a whole slew (a comedy of errors, in many ways) of real-life TM issues cause our lived to be derailed. I can assure you that we both managed to survive the ordeals (I think I came out of it a little less bruised than he did). In the midst of that period, he and I decided to spilt all projects that JEG was working on. He kept the name and many of the smaller projects he was working on. Umbragia, however, was my baby. I kept that. Skip forward. About nine months ago, my two small boys discovered the LEGO game HEROICA. This is an awesome game, and if you have smaller kids, I highly recommend checking it out. My seven year old was enchanted by the game; he loves it. Slowly, I started adding RPG elements into the play and he has eaten them up. I decided I wanted to create a rules-lite RPG we could play with the HEROICA LEGO pieces. I began writing simple rules. As I did, and as I researched simple and effective ways of handling basic RPG concepts, I found myself distracted -- a trip down memory lane.
