When an author writes a book or a filmmaker makes a film, there is usually an underlying commentary to the piece. A thesis. Some form of message that the author is trying to speak to his audience.

Do you think this is true in game design as well?

Has anyone noticed anything that seems to be the designer's commentary? If you're a game designer have you ever designed a game or accessory with this in mind?
