I would say that they fall out of favor in the early 80s when you had the explosion of popularity and a lot of younger players come in who were introduced primarily through the modules and who did not have the same exposure to the earlier culture. *I am simplifying, and this doesn’t mean that there was some east coast/ west feud like the 90s.
