Well, the upcoming issue is more pulp goodness [including the Pulp Heroes d20 Modern remix]...and thereafter, the sweet anticipation of a new minigame. Lessee...recently we've had gritty WWII combat, mystery-solving rock-n-roll cartoons, and planetary adventure. Oh, and the Lich Queen, which was groovy. Soooo...I wonder what's next. Having just seen "Pirates of the Caribbean" and read "Scaramouche," I wouldn't mind something swashbuckley. Maybe a historical game, maybe a fantasy world with more of a Napoleonic or Victorian feel, but plenty of duels, intrigue, and high adventure. At the risk of treading upon Spycraft's toes...if I were running things, I'd do a retro spy game in the swinging sixties. Bond, M:I, and Nick Fury. And I'd call it "Top Secret." On the subject of period pieces...a seventies kung-fu/blaxploitation game would be interesting, but unlikely. One seventies game in Poly is probably enough. Watch the original "Shaft", buy a copy of "Blood and Fists", and put on some J.B.s. There was a fun article for Alternity a few years back discussing the classic fifties sci-fi monsters. That might be fun. But since we just had an old-school sci-fi game, also unlikely. Rumors of Dark Matter d20 have been floated from time to time...and one occasionally hears whispers about a ninja game. And Bruce Baugh has mentioned that he would dig writing a "New Wave Heroes" game, a la Buckaroo Banzai. Hmmm...
