It started as a simple project for my own OD&D/Champions of ZED gaming group - put together a spell book we could reference while gaming, and add all the (non redundant) Dragons at Dawn spells. Well, nothing is ever simple, but Ladies and Gentlemen, I predict you are going to like this: The Book of Elder Magic is first and foremost a handy spell reference designed for use at the gaming table. It contains all the spells found in the Original Edition of the worlds most popular fantasy adventure Role Playing Game, diligently researched and edited to reflect original intent as far as possible. To this are added all compatible spells developed for the Dragons at Dawn retro-tribute. In addition, a select number of spells have been adapted and added from Dave Arneson's Open Game sources. For good measure, adaptations of other spells developed by members of the original Twin Cities gaming group are also present, including selections from Fred Funk’s Fred’s world, and the games of Richard Snider and David Megarry. In all, there are 57 pages of spells for use with Classic, Original, and Retroclone rulesets of the worlds most popular RPG, including our own Champions of ZED. As if that is not enough, there is also another 10+ pages detailing the effects of magic addiction, a new magic wand, the Alchemist character class, the relationship of iron and magic, more comprehensive development of the rules for the cost and time of creating magic items, and J. E. Holmes inspired rules for spell books. Pdf at http://sites.fastspring.com/apriorcrs/product/thebookofeldermagic also available in print on Lulu.
