It's been interesting to learn more about what makes the show's version of Homelander tick. While he's clearly descending into madness and worsening acts of depravity, I can also understand how some viewers may feel sympathy for him. I think that the anger he feels toward his son is because, in his own way, he's trying to be the parent and father figure he never had. So, to him, when his son rebuffs him, I think Homelander's inner child is angry about seeing someone push away the efforts toward love and affection (no matter how misguided) that he wishes he had, rather than being locked in a corporate facility the way that he was. I'm not a fan of Firecracker. I get what she's supposed to represent, but it's a bit on the nose, lacks nuance, and the performance of the part doesn't live up to past characters such as Stormfront. Frenchie's story also feels weak. He's always been fluid in many areas of his life, so it's not in any way surprising that he's likely "pansexual." However, there hasn't been much of any actual story or character development. It comes across as a tacked-on love story that doesn't add anything to the show.</blockquote>
