The Complete Campaign (Lvls 1-30) is Here!

First Post
Hi guys,

We have something rather special coming from Mongoose this month - the first Complete Campaign book.

This is a new series from Mongoose covering both D20 Fantasy and D20 Modern (eventually) games. The aim is to give a Games Master everything he needs, not just for a single session but for an entire campaign that can run for months. The first of these is The Drow War, a fantasy epic written by Adrian Bott that spans three 256 page books and will take characters from 1st level right up to 30th! I am sure you will agree, that is a lot of gaming time - with these books, you have a hassle free campaign just waiting to be unleashed.

The first book, The Gathering Storm, serves as an introduction for the campaign as a whole and will bring the players face to face with an enemy that literally threatens the entire world - no other challenge will do for players that will hit 30th level by the end! The Gathering Storm takes characters from 1st to 10th level, with books two and three accelerating the action and taking characters to Epic level.

The Gathering Storm introduces a new setting for the campaign which you can either use 'as is' or use the guidelines in the first chapter to transport it to your own campaign world. This first installment will see the players learn of a massive invasion coming to threaten civilisation, visit the walled seaport of Saragost, uncover a den of thieves, unlock the secrets of ancient artefacts, travel to a temple deep in the swamps, guide themselves through the politics of the capital city, befriend a reluctant princess and face the challenges of the Palace of Black Glass.

All in the life of an adventurer! Of course, in Part Two (available in July), things _really_ get interesting. . .

The Drow War Book One: The Gathering Storm, is priced at $34.95 and is available this week from your local stores.

This sounds like a cool idea. I just hope that each of the books in the series has an ending that can either be used as an ending, or as a lead-in to the next book in the series. Sort of like the end of Buffy season 2 - the current threat has been dispatched, but other things have just hit the fan as well.

I probably won't be getting the first series of books myself, mostly because I'm so not a fan of drow, which means I'm not all that interested in a whole campaign focused around them.

My thing right now... is that my campaign is huge on continuity. The continuity itself goes back to almost 20 years of gaming. The characters have a direct effect on the world around them. Yes, there are multiple groups of characters running around in the same world (at various levels) all of them with some kind of connection to each other. Books like this sound great for me on one hand (huge epic), but fearful on the other (inconsistancy with my campaign and the work that goes with fixing it). I'll ponder... yes...

PDF Versions?

Hi,

Just wondering.. Will these <or any more of your titles> be released in watermarked PDF format on Drivethrough RPG?

I notice that the Tome of Drow Lore wasn't, and frankly I hope thats an aberration. Personally, I've been bolder in my buying habits when the pdf option is present, as the format and slightly lower price makes doubtful purchases less daunting. Just my 0.02 as a concerned customer.

REALLY looking forward to this. I'm not the world's #1 drow fan, but to have this kind of thing available is great. Heck, I could see using the setting for a campaign or two, just so everyone gets an emotional investment, and THEN starting the invasion with the next set of characters. Also looking forward to the dragon-based complete campaign.

And you guys deserve applause for showing some hardcore ambition. Most companies nibble around the edges, but you guys are going for it in a big, big way.

Cheers guys :)

Incidentally, Tome of Drow Lore will be available as a PDF via Drivethru (all our books will be). We just release the paper version first. . .

This looks pretty good, and I've been looking forward to it since it was announced. I love big adventures.

I sure hope it shows up on Amazon.ca.
