Designed with shipping companies on the frontier in mind, the vessel is fast and has an array of defensive armament to hold off attacks from jealous rivals or dastardly pirates. The Contessa offers the new power plant fuel cells as standard allowing internal space for larger maneuver drives and increase profitability for ships operating on the frontier.</p><p></p><p>Not wasting an opportunity, Anderson and Felix immediately offered two Contessa-class variants to the Hub Federation Navy. Designed for entirely different roles, the Provision-class light replenishment ship was proposed for use by the navy as a logistics ship to accompany a patrol corvette or sloop squadron rather than a larger replenishment ship such as the Boyne-class and remained essentially unchanged compared to the Contessa. The Einsatz-class forward deployment ship, however, was modified internally to carry and deploy two platoons of Hub Federation Marine Commando or mechanized infantry, their support team (armorers, drivers, and maintenance), equipment and their vehicles for covert missions.</p><p></p><p>This book, written by Independence Games' starship guru, Michael Johnson, and beautifully illustrated by fan-favorite starship artist, Ian Stead, has full deckplans for the Contessa, the Provision, and the Einsatz.
