the DMG2 Stat Block

A simple question this morning.

Is the new stat block, introduced in the DMG2, considered open source, or can you even close off a thing like a statblock, which is basically just a rearrangement of text, from the OGL?

I don't know that you could close a stat block at all.

I'm not certain, legally, though, as IANAL.

I'd look at some newer 3rd-party adventures or monster-containing products to see if the new stat block is in common use.

This has been discussed in the past; I don't think there is a definitive answer. You may want to ask on the Publishers forum -- someone there can probably point you to the past threads.

Me personally, I would ask permission from WotC first.
