I especially love the "Tell him to get in line!" comment from Dar!  Wether this is wise thing to do always depends on the DM and the PCs and the extent of the rule fudging. In my groups we had the understanding to never adjust the rules or die rolls for the story's sake, except when we decided the rule itself needed adjusting (but then it generally changed and for everyone).In our opinion it would have cheapened our big victories (i.e. close calls), although you have to accept the deaths of chacters of TPKs (even if you have grown attached to them).</blockquote>
