The Dragon's Demand - Monestary (contains spoilers)

First Post
Hi,
Players know about the Monastery and are keen to visit BEFORE the auction of Hunclay's Manor. Any suggestions on how the occupants of the Monastery should re-act if they do appear un-annouced, ie not to drop of the money that Aeteperax has requested.

Cheers

That is a tough one. I would worry about the players becoming too familiar with the monks, too soon. Think I'd set high DC survival checks/bad weather + a stiff random encounter. Scare 'em back to town

Thx
They have already ventured into the DragonFen to check out Tula's tomb, without a key.
Back in town I've had a few of A's minions break into Hunclays mansion looking for stuff.
Lady Origina has already asked if they can guard the mansion and it's items before the auction.
My players feel they need to look around and not hang around town :)
The have one character hanging around (not present at the table).
Anyway will see what happens.
Cheers

Update. - Spoiler below

Players are not very patient so with the auction 2 weeks out, they have decided to find out whats out at the monastery. They circled the monastery and detected someone watching from the Belfry.
They climbed into the monastery grounds via the the abattoir walls and discover the grizzly remains of mutilated bodies of mostly kobolds and some humans(can someone tell me why the kobolds were killed, they seem to be allies of "A")?

Anyways the party moved around to the north side of the temple and entered into the grandhall, by one of the side doors and waiting in the rafters in the rafters are 4 Grioths and combat is about to start - session ends. I'll probably have a few other of A's minions also converge on the grandhall to join the fight.

I've decide that Azmur Kell is not here at this moment - he may be with A.

Aeteperax isn't really expecting anyone, but knows about the party from earlier attack by his minions at Hunclay's manor.
The party is 5th level (5e characters - yes converted this adventure to 5e), so they may discover Aeteperax lair and probably try to take him down.
It could go a number of ways:
1) If they do attack and flee, they then have a good case to get the key off Bassy to Tula's tomb to use the items to help in the fight against Aeteperax.
2) If the party heads back to town and don't come across Aeteperax, then this still allows Aeteperax to send his illusion and minors to attack the town and demand money or the item he seeks.
3)The party could get lucky and kill Aeteperax and i guess its game over and the party are heroes. :)

I don't think the auction will happen, unless the party change there mind - not a big deal i guess.

Cheers
