OOC: Not a problem, Corinthi, I've been a bit busy myself, lately. And my first resolution: No more simultaneous battles, if I can help it. Whoo! Anyways everybody, if any of you haven't visited the OOC thread in a while, do me a favor and check it out, a couple of interesting (I think) notions have popped up and I'm dying for some more input. And now, back to our Feature Presentation. Golden Flower Bar Mark Huan's bodyguards finally snap to their senses and rally amid the chaos of the sudden gunfight, drawing their arms and opening fire. Upstairs one more of Tony's men goes down in the hail of gunfire, while downstairs the air is simply filled with that much more burning hot lead. Tony drags May backwards towards the front door of the bar as he sends a bullet whizzing by Jadefinger's face, his aim thrown off by May's struggling. OOC: I think I'm going to stop documenting mook rolls; it's pretty time consuming, and nobody really cares what they do anyways, right? Tony's roll: +2, -4 Mao's well-placed kick sends one of Tony's men through the balcony's guard rail and down to the first floor. He lands on a table below with a spectacular crash that destroys the table with the force of his impact and sends glasses flying. After carefully drawing a bead on his target, Jadefinger fires at Tony's head, but sends himself off his mark just as he pulls the trigger to avoid shooting May who is busily thrashing and trying to escape from Tony. Jack Frost says his lines and emphasises his point as he cracks a mook's head down into a nearby table, knocking him unconscious. Tony's last man on the second floor seizes his opportunity and charges into Mao from behind just after Mao sends another man flying. Mao is knocked over the edge as well, but manages to catch one of the remaining posts on the guard rail. Mao is left hanging from the balcony with Tony's man standing over him... Downstairs, Tony's men follow their leader's aim and open fire at Jadefinger, who easily dodges their fire but gets grazed by one shot. OOC: Mao: +4, -2 +11 Martial Arts = Hit Jadefinger: +5, -5 + 15 Guns +2 aiming -4 Cover = Miss Jack Frost: +5, -4 +13 Martial Arts = Hit What started as a regular attack from the mook upstairs became a great roll (+13, -1), and with Mao standing at the edge of a balcony, I had to take advantage of the situation and use one of those classic action sequence moments... The downstairs mooks miss Jadefinger, though one hits (barely) and does 4 Wound Points. "If you want the bitch, you can have her after I'm out the door!" Tony shouts to Jack Frost as he again attempts to shoot Jadefinger. May knocks his arm aside as he fires, however, sending his shot way off its mark. Mark's men continue attacking Tony's men, and Mao is relieved as a red burst erupts from the chest of the mook above him, sending the man down to land atop his fallen compatriot below. Tony: +5, -17(!) Mark's mooks miss, with one good hit upstairs... Mao: 2 Jadefinger: 2 Jack Frost: 1 Tony: Out of shots Tony's Men: 1 Mark's Men: Out of shots Wanchai District Kane's kick strikes the gunman, who reels back from the attack then looks up and smiles against the pain, displaying nicotine-yellowed teeth. The thin man begins backing up as he starts firing a series of rapid unaimed shots from his firearm, which looks similar to a glock but is a little too large and oddly blocky. Though taken off-guard by the sudden attacks, Kane is able to duck beneath the first shot. The formerly quiet street now roars with deafening noise as the yakuza thugs open fire at Shinji, apparently uncaring if they hit their comrades already fighting him. At the same time the huge brute effortlessly rips the counter from one of the empty stalls on the street and hurls it at Shinji, striking him in the back. Eiji and Shinji are both distracted by the gunfire that has erupted around them, and both wildly miss their attacks. Shinji is, however, able to reposition himself. OOC: Kane: +7, -4 +13 Martial Arts = 16 HIT! Slight damage Bruiser: +5, -1 = HIT! Shinji takes 8 Wound Points The gunman is using a snapshot, which cuts the shot cost of his attack by one, but increases the roll needed to hit by 2.
