The Dresden Files

I'm starting to piece together a Dresden Files campaign for the upcoming RPG, and I'm looking for help. One of the biggest problems I have when running the game is making enough interesting individuals to populate my world. Good guys, bad guys, innocent bystanders, high concepts for your PCs, you name it. I'm going to try and get a setting/plot thread up over the weekend.

Punkrock Warlock
Casts spells using rock lyrics.

Magical Mucisian
Uses a violin for her magic.

Gorrilla Mercenaries
A shapeshifting brute squad being used by the Reds.

Veteran Vet
Former Ranger now working at an animal hospital, with an unusual link with animals.

Weregoat
Got to find a way to make this one work...

A nurse at a hospice or children's hospital that has some power in healing, but is being sued / shut down because of her rituals.

A guy from a paranormal show that is hounding the PCs to let him film "A Day in the Life" style piece. He could be clued in or not, the PCs could be willing or not. To many ways to use this one.

Pirates of the Caribbean
Some middle weight sorcerers specializing in whether magic and hexes. They live on the sea to keep away from the Wardens.

Ninjas
The real deal, trained to focus their chi to produce mystical effects.

A cell of Jewish cabbalists trying to track down a rogue / stolen Golem.

Crypto Hunter
Explorer and field guide, cataloging the never never.

Really Big Game Hunter
Taking wealthy sportsman on hunts through the never never.

A demolitions expert that uses rune to bring down buildings instead of explosives.

Alchemist Maximus
Really can turn lead and other base metals into gold, but there is a catch... (Like people trying to kidnap you).

A stripper with magical tattoos that promote, generosity...

A magical breeder that is creating mythic creature in his laboratory.

A safe cracker / burglar that uses hexes and ferromancy to ply his trade.

A sea explorer who is the scion of a merperson and a human.

An African tribal shaman that liberates animals from zoos around the world and transports them home thru the never never.

An Eskimo werewalrus.

A doctor at a fertility clinic that doesn't use drugs or invetro. Also a decent healer.

Really, really like your ideas so far.

How bout a Fairy that wants to sell used cars. She's completely consumed by advertising and is using her fairy powers to enforce their literal truth.

I think the important thing with a Dresdenverse is that magic might be the most interesting layer of the world but it is only the icing most of the time.

Make your stories work without magic first and then add colour. The majority of opponents in a campaign are going to be goons, criminals, & hitmen. Easy to buy and they get the job done.
