The Explorers' Guild is having its first contest! Ever thought you could come up with better stuff than you see in your favorite Role Playing Guides? Ever wanted to see your name in a product that other people can buy and use? Ever wanted to help expand the city of Bluffside? Now here is your chance. We want you to write up a 2-5 page submission detailing a Point of Interest that is placed somewhere in Bluffside: City on the Edge. Wizard District? Sure. Old City. Why not? Undercity? Bring it on. It is your choice. Here are the specifics of the contest: Submit a fully detailed Point of Interest in the style that is reflective of Bluffside; fully detailed means background about the POI and a rough map. (The map can be hand-drawn and scanned in or done in one of the following programs: CC2, AutoRealm, Paint Shop Pro, PhotoShop and saved as a gif, bitmap, or jpg.) Each submission should be no more than 2-5 pages including NPCs. The submission should follow the format of the current Bluffside POIs. The POI will also include at least two NPCs, including stats and background about each. Detailed descriptions should also be included, in case artwork is warranted. The contest runs from January 7th, 2005 to February 20, 2005. Text for entries must be saved as an rtf and submitted with map(s) to: tegcontest@theexplorersguild.com Subject: TEG 1st Contest At the end of the contest, the POIs will be gathered and judged by the Core Council of The Explorers’ Guild. After picking the 10 POIs that we feel best represent Bluffside, the POIs will get the full TEG treatment, including editing, formatting, artwork, layout, etc and be compiled into one document. Winners will be announced March 20, 2005. This document will also include bonus “official” Bluffside material. Examples might be special NPCs, new spells, skills, or feats that pertain to the POIs, an adventure, etc. The Explorers’ Guild and Ronin Arts will then offer it for sale on RPGNow. For the complete rules, POI example and rtf template, go to this page.
