I honestly had not realized just how different 5e spellcasting and the spells were so I'm taking my time to really read them over. It's actually made choosing spells super hard, especially since I don't get many but they also level up as you go...  I don't think I will need spells right off the bat and MV already knows my background and path so we probably could start roleplaying whenever he is ready. I can also post my character sheet and add in the spells in the next couple of days if that helps people.
