Didn't get very much done. Sorry. Had to do my report cards this weekend. Anyway here's abit more. The Gnomish Brotherhood is a curious entity within the power circles of the Last Haven. It walks a fine line of neutrality amongst the supporters of each of the Patrons, and its policies strive to prevent its entanglement with any of the Patrons’ schemes and plans. Many see the Gnomish Brotherhood as force equally as influential and powerful as any of the Patrons. In every Stronghold and city, it maintains a presence. The holdings in the Forge, Templemount and Egran are the greatest and indeed are small towns in their own right. Its agents and representatives operate within all high circles of power. Its mercantile interests are vast and its martial prowess considerable. It is a force to be reckoned with and even feared. The Gnomes base their power, of course, on the development and application of skyship lore. No other power can rival their understanding of the mechanics and subtleties of halas. Halas is a volatile metal, and must be mixed with other substances to function properly. Over many centuries, the Gnomes have gained mastery of its potential. Many a mage or madman has attempted to use halas in the construction of a skyship and has met with disastrous results. Though skyships are built throughout the Last Haven, only the Brotherhood know how to imbue them with lasting power. The Brotherhood’s understanding of the skies and its fickle nature also makes them an invaluable and coveted resource. Trade and transport are the two main enterprises of the Brotherhood. Trade goods from all corners of the mountains, Kessel and Isles are routinely carried from one Brotherhood Holding to another.
