This started out as a high plains drifter type of goblin,
and wandered off from their. Please let me know how
he works out if you use him in your game. :)

This unusual goblin wears dark, leather garb
that is covered by a light down of brown fur.
Draped down his back is a drab, heavy cloak
that covers most of his form. On his head is a
wide-rimmed hat that is pulled down low on his
forehead, cloaking his face in gloom. Hanging
by a hook and chain from the left of the wide
leather belt about his waist is a small but
unusual crossbow. On the opposite side a
seemingly ordinary shortsword rests loosely in
a worn scabbard.

On the rare occasions that he is not completely
wrapped in his garb, the goblin can be seen to
possess a pale, almost chalk-hued flesh that is
in start contrast to most members of his race.
His eyes are slightly larger and darker than is
normal, and his features are slightly softer
and more gracefully formed. Indeed his entire
form seems more cultivated and evolved than a
typical goblin, as if he were a more evolved
member of that fecund race.

The Goblin With No Name is a unique, mysterious
figure that wanders the ways of the underdark
seeking foes for which he has a bounty slayer
contract. He is exceptionally clever and
cultured for a member of the goblin race, but
is also decidedly taciturn and reserved. Nobody
seems to know of his origins or his ancestry,
and he normally seeks to maintain an air of
mystery about his past.

He serves a group of secret patrons, and has
yet to fail to complete a contract. These patrons
call him Gownon, an ironic contraction of "Goblin
With No Name". Were it possible to inquire of the
patrons the true nature of Gownon, they would
describe him as a creature called a Gleaning, an
artificially evolved Goblin transported here from
a distant world that is much darker and far less
fertile than this one. His service is in partial
payment of a great debt by his clan.

Combat

This gleaning is unusually skilled and
exceptionally well equipped. Like mundane goblins,
he favors the use of ambush, dirty tricks, and
whatever other advantage his cunning mind can
devise. In addition to his martial and rogue
skills, the gleaning bears an unusual edge that
he is careful to hide until it is too late.
Hidden in the center of his forehead is a
fully-formed and functional third eye. In
addition to giving the gleaning an edge in the
ability to spot a foe, this magical eye can
emit a brilliant burst of light to blind a foe.
He refuses to speak of how he came to possess
this remarkable organ.

Eye of Flashburst (Sp): Three times per day as
a standard action, the gleaning can emit a
blinding, flashing burst of light from his third
eye in a 20-ft. cone. Sighted creatures within
the cone are automatically dazzled for a full
round (-1 penalty on attack rolls) and must
succeed on a Will save or be blinded for 2d8
rounds. Creatures outside the cone, but with
line of sight to the gleaning, are dazzled for
a full round. The save DC is Constitution-based.
Gleanings are not immune to this effect.

Skills: Gleanings have a +4 racial bonus on
Move Silently and Spot checks.
