My Halloween Appreciation is also my Obon Appreciation event... As of yesterday, Jonathon McAnulty (Wicht on these boards) is currently rewriting my 3 part adventure arc to be followed by a setting handbook for my Kaidan: a Japanese Ghost Story setting to be published as an imprint under Rite Publishing. It is currently a patronage project that also started yesterday as far as recruiting patrons to help pay for the project. In many ways Kaidan reflects its predecessors of Oriental Adventures and Rokugan, but with an emphais to Asian Horror. While some familiar classes are included, new ones have been added to better fill out the PC classes available in Pathfinder, yet still have historical representations in Japanese culture/history. Some classes are replaced (wujen is now onmyoji and jugondo). One has been fixed - Yamabushi instead of Shugenja. The emphasis in the setting is an undead government in the Imperial Court and the Shogunate military rulership. A perverse form of reincarnation that all inhabitants are doomed to participate. And an ever present curse of undead status - as yurei (Japanese ghosts) are too easily created from violent death. This is a project I've been working on for over a year (really on my thoughts for years before) and is on its way to final release. I'm very excited. Halloween, and Obon (August 15; festival of the dead) are my too favorite holidays - and Kaidan is my celebration for that and my heritage... GP
