[QUOTE="Ace, post: 1184419, member: 944"] Tank I would say Barbarian 1/Fighter X This guy is your tank. Taking a first level of Barbarian means a higher Fort Save, +10 Movement, 8 extra skill points, Rage and 2 extra HP for essentially no cost since you will get Heavy Armor and Literacy when you multi to fighter. Best of all its a logical and flavorfull combo The minor drawback is that you are limited to Human, Half Orc, Dwarf or Half Elf Blaster Wizard X. This guy is simple choice. While Sorcerers have more magic items (no scribing costs) and more spells per day they lack versitility. Race choice is Human or Elf you have a 16+ to put into con. Half Elf will work here too for social types. If a lot of roleplaying is expected and you have a 14+ INT you can go the "Social Mage" route with a decent charisma and possibly a Sorcerer though IMO this if suboptimal also if you expect a lot of combat and you can stand the slow progression you can go Eldritch Knight for the Extra BAB and HP options Cleric Cleric X. Another simple choice. I like Druids and they do have some great advantages you still need a cleric for turning and such like. For Domains, well there are a lot of choice but War and Travel are always fun Race choice I like Human, Half Orc (sometimes with 1 level of Barbarian) and Elf (Archer twinks) It is also possible (if you have INT14+ and a decent CHA) to make a half elf social cleric by clever use of cross class skills and feats Scout/Sneak This one is trickier. I would say Rogue, Ranger 2 and Rogue Most parties do need a tracker type and a ranger suits the bill. While Survival is not a class skill for Rogues, 2 sp per rank isn't that bad a hit so Tracking can get pretty high. I think 2 levels of ranger should do well enough to get the bonus feats and a few extra HP. Also since you will be scouting ahead you may want to take Iron Will (to reduce the chance of being mind whammied) RAces for this combo are Human and Half Elf. Hlaf Elf is nice for social scouts if you have a decent charisma As an option you can go Barb1 /Rog X This combo has less combat feats but gets fast movement, Survival (at 1st level anyway) and on average 3 xp extra.
