Gaming I play RPG:s for pure escapism value. I like to explore, investigate, and socialize, and is frankly not very fond of the combat side of them, something that has grown stronger lately. (You know, that "traipsing off through fairy rings and interacting with the little people", that D&D isn't about anymore, according to James Wyatt in "Races and Classes". :() To be honest about it, I'm suffering from long-time depression since a few years past, and the lighter, escapist side of the game helps with that. Severed heads, spraying blood, or spilled gut content does not help you to sleep at night, but daydreaming about your character flying over an elven tree city or running in deep woods in wolf shape does... ;) I used to play a lot of war games, but that interest has completely dried up. I also prefer more light-sided gaming fare on the board game side, as in the wave of recent german-origin board games. Art I definitively like low-brow art :). Pulp-style or comic book illustrations, especially manga/anime style. I like to dabble a little with illustrating on my own, and keep myself to this style. Professional I work as a senior computer programmer since many years, currently specializing in systems integration. Keywords for the initiated: XML, IBM MQ, Java, Websphere. This means that I definitevely do not want to play tech types in RPGs. Hobbies I like to do some illustrating, when I can dig up the energy :). (See http://matsohrman.com/ for examples.) I read a lot of fantasy and science fiction. Used to read a lot of crime stories, but when the structure of the novels became more interesting than the stories themselves, I got bored of them. View a lot of Anime. Religion Atheist/Agnostic. I was a member of the Swedish State Church as long as I lived in a diocese where the goverment-imposed church tax went to the maintenance of medieval historical churches, but when I moved to a richer diocese, I left it. Historical/Historical Epochs I prefer times and lands that never were over those that really existed... :)
