To your joy, and perhaps surprise, nobody even attempts to murder you while you sleep. The following day is overcast, and it feels like it might rain soon. Not that this will necessarily affect you as you delve into the bowels of the earth. [sblock=Perception 18]As you make your way back to the keep, you notice a new set of footprints leading to the structure using the same path you had taken before.[/sblock] You repeat your path from the previous day through the ruins of the keep. You can't help but notice that some of the corpses have been moved, or removed. The cause of this is nowhere to be seen; everything is incredibly still. Before long you move past the hobgoblin barracks and find yourselves in a peculiar room. The chamber itself is fairly small, about the size of Takeshi's tomb. The only feature is the ten foot wide hole in the center of the floor. The opening leads to an even larger room about thirty feat below, from which you can see light and hear hushed voices. Apparently someone smashed through the stones to gain access to what lies beneath. Or, it occurs to you, someone could have smashed up from below. There are a number of chains attached to nearby stones that lead down to the lower room's floor. It looks like even the less athletically inclined of you could slide down the chains with some discomfort but minimal pain.
