Below you will find the synopsis for a new campaign I am about to run for a new group of players who are new to RPing in general. Tell me what you think and feel free to give any advice that springs to mind. Setting: Fogotten Realms, Town of Glantri Session 1: Meetings Session 2: Damara’s Castle Session 3: Into the Tomb of Damara Session 4: Betrayal Session 5: Zanzer’s Folly Session 6: Secrets of the Haunted Tower Session 7: The Fighters’ Academy Session 8: Towers of Evil Session 9: Lair of the Vampire Lord Session 10: Base of Operations Session 1, Meetings revolves around gathering the PCs into a cohesive party. The PCs meet in the small town of Glantri, a small village 10 miles east of Thunderston in Cormyr. Once together, they embark on their first adventure. The High Wizard Zanzer summons the party and hires them to retrieve a lesser dragon orb from Damara’s Castle. The castle portion of Session 2 will take the characters to level 2. After exploring the castle, the PCs delve into the Tomb of Damara and locate the orb. The final climactic battle will reward them with enough experience to achieve level 3. Session 4, Betrayal reveals the true nature of Zanzer who takes the orb and has the PCs thrown in his dungeon on the outskirts of town. Escaping the Dungeon and defeating Zanzer’s dragon should earn the PCs 4th level. Upon the defeat of the dragon, the PCs venture back to Zanzer’s tower where they must face him one final time. Freeing the village of Glantri earns the heroes great favor. A feast is held in their name and they have a few months to rest. Completion of Zanzer’s Folly should give the PCs enough experience for 5th level. Rested and bored, the PCs are hired by the Temple of Lathander to seek out the source of a recent rise in undead. Session 6, Secrets of the Haunted Tower involves researching the tower and making the journey through its perilous surroundings in the Vast Swamp. The Fighter’s Academy is the first of three parts that make up a single large sight based adventure. This session takes place in the first three floors of the tower and should give the PCs enough experience to reach 6th level. The second part of the Haunted Tower is the Towers of Evil. Here the PCs must explore the upper towers and find a way to enter the crypts below. The evil of the tower is finally discovered in the Lair of the Vampire Lord. In this final encounter, the PCs must fight and destroy an ancient vampire necromancer who intends to raise an army of undead. At this point, the PCs should be about 7th level. Returning to Glantri, the PCs get a few weeks of rest before they embark on their next quest. They learn of the fate of Brightstone Keep and set of to reclaim it in Base of Operations. After taking the keep, the PCs are granted its deed as payment for their heroics. Now an adventuring party of 8th or 9th level, the PCs have their own fledgling stronghold.
