So I want to run an E6 campaign, and start things off with the Kobold King series (D0, D1, D1.5, and D...3? Hungry are the Dead). However, I don't want to have the PCs go past 6th level, and adding adventures between the 2nd level D1 and the 5th level D1.5 may be a pain. So: Would the 3rd level PF heroes I run be able to manage a 3.5 adventure that is set for 5th level? Would approx. 4th level heroes manage the 6th level adventure Hungry are the Dead? Additionally, keep in mind that I won't be using magic items as often as a reward per se, but lots of Masterwork in its place; the PCs will still find the individual magic items on major villains, but I'm trying to have items be named and specific: a cave with an advanced Chaos Beast could have the actual "FlameTongue" sword in it, but the PCs would have to survive and escape to get it. Or be given the item by a patron like Galadriel, that sort of thing. They'll get to 6th and then stay there, gaining a feat every level. The idea is that the world has mostly 1st level humans in it; 4th is very exceptional, and 6th is Epic (but still human). If a PC dies, they start at 1st alongside these other Epic heroes, and catches up. I can make up all the sites I want, and never have to worry too much about the PCs' level adjustment (only after many feats). So: would those modules, or other 3.5 modules, be too killer for Pathfinder characters of slightly lower levels? Or should I try to run them at a higher level?
