Message: <blockquote data-quote="manofsteel1303" data-source="post: 907885" data-attributes="member: 12125">I have a theory that the Merovingian, the Architect, and the Oracle are all connected to Neo like a family.  The Architect and the Oracle are all ready established as a father and mother pair.  Neo is the star child, the straight A student that can do no wrong.  Neo is the younger child that the parents pay all attention to.  Merovingian is the older, rebel brother, who used to get the attention but now is lacking, he is the Cain to Neo's Abel.  We've seen that he's not just a program, but he can write programs (everybody's favorite cake!!), so he must be fairly powerful.  This also follows Biblical lines, the Architect is God, Neo is Jesus (a comparison made by almost any reviewer I've read), and then Merovingian is Lucifer, or Hades.  If you get a chance to play Enter the Matrix, the video game (and counterpart) to the series you see that the Oracle and the Merovingian have very close ties.  Also, two other rebel characters who are seen but whose names are not revealed are named in the game as Cain and Abel.  The Wachowskis are masters of playing with names and titles, everything has a meaning, they didn't name these guys randomly.P.S. - If you saw my post on a discussion about the Neo/Architect decision, you saw how I feel that Neo is himself the Matrix.  If so, this only confirms this family theory because the Architect admits to being the father of the Matrix.</blockquote>
