The Milk Crate is near and dear to me. Furniture, storage, step stool, pet carrier, bike basket and a host of other uses, all from this humble chunk of plastic.

Apparently I'm not the only one

Any Enworlder near Florida who like crates aught to take a look at this auction. I'd snap this up myself if i lived near there.

The Square Deely looks cool. Though if it doesn't poor...

It looks like it pours poorly - at least for younger kids. B-)

I love milk crates ever since my college dorm days (way back then they weren't for sale anywhere, and their acquisition was probably petty larceny). I still use them and collect black ones when I see them on sale cheap. I can't see them ever going away, even if they are no longer used to transport milk.
 

The venerable milk-crate shall never be obsolete. Not only do I own a few older ones myself, I've seen new ones- in a variety of materials- at The Container Store.
