I saw this one via linkfilter: homeowners in the town of Wildwood, Missouri, woke up to find that their lake was missing -- it had completely drained away. And apparently this isn't an isolated phenomenon...
Of course, there's a perfectly reasonable scientific explanation -- but wouldn't this make a need scenario seed?
