The Monte Cook - Reynolds Secret Project

Stegger

First Post
Well after all the news on WOTC this week, I just wanted to share this with you.
On the question of what the future holds for their secret project:

Hopefully we will see it published. There are talks of licensing it out to another publisher. We shall see. I really REALLY would like to see this book come out.

Or Link to Reynolds forum

I for one really enjoy RTTOEE as well as the LoD, so I really hope it get published by some other company. Maybe even by Malhavoc Press???

Considering it's secret, how do you know if you want it or not?

While both are very good authors, for all we know the project could be something very very odd, like a Smurf sourcebook.

Perhaps it has to do with an existing product (such as M:TG). Concealing its nature (MTG d20 RPG) would therefore prevent it from affecting sales of that product until they were able to prepare their original product's department for it.

Maybe it's something controversial. Given WOTC's new boldness compared to TSR (e.g., resurrecting the original Common names of demons and devils), it's hard to imagine what would give them pause.

Maybe they're just being dramatic?

These are just shots in the dark, of course.

It would be way cool. When the talks about the secret project started, I did a little survey here and in the wizards' M:tG boards and found that a majority of people are quite favorable to a M:tG RPG, provided that it is good. With Monte behind it, it can't be anything less than good.

Considering that they're thinking on taking to someone other than WotC we can assume it's not based on any of WotC's Intellectual Property.

Thus no M:TG RPG.
