I don't know if anyone noticed, but Bioware included a metagame with NWN. A game within the game. There's a good chance it only came with the 56k modem version of the game, though, so those of you with cable connections have probably missed out here. When you go to multiplayer, and click on "Join Internet Game", the game logs you into Gamespy and then proceeds to list all the games currently online. The challenge is this: to locate and click on the game of your choice! Man, this has to be the most challenging part of the whole game. I could spend hours just playing this bit! With a game list that is expanding in front of you, complete with auto-scrolling, even keeping the game you want onscreen for a second is hard enough, let alone aiming at and clicking on it with the mouse pointer before its position in the list changes! It can take 2-3 minutes just to complete the seemingly simple task of clicking on an onscreen option! Seriously, though - how are poeple with 56k modems finding the multiplayer. I've found that: 1) I cannot host a game with more than two players. It just slows down to an unplayable state. 2) At first it was OK, but recently lag has been a real problem - I haven't played in an online module in days now. When you clikc on a location, my character just stands there for a few seconds and then teleports over there; and when charging to attack a monster, the game will have me run right through it before it seems to suddenly "remember" that there was a monster in the way and teleport me back again to the point where we would have met. Is there a reason why lag should have suddenly becme a problem? There don't appear to be more people than usual in the games I'm trying to join (sometimes there are none), and this is happening with modules which worked fine before (e.g. Eric's module).
