The Amazing "I Don't Give a Damn" Spiderman - I just saw an extended trailer for the Amazing Spiderman on Naked Trailers. This looks to be a much, much darker film than the other Spiderman films, much more like a Batman film really. A Spiderman of the Night. And the actor portraying Parker comes across as a dark loner, a sneaking man, a private man, a Vadder, and the whole film strikes me as entirely more realistic (relatively speaking of course, I mean it is a comic book character after all) than the other Spiderman films. This Spiderman seems physical, bloodied, fast, gritty, dirty. A working man's Spiderman. A Spiderman with a job to do and things to investigate and uncover. Less a wanna be well-liked hero in a brightly colored suit desperate for self-absorbed teenagery adulation and let's all get along public approval than a real vigilante creeping in the secret places hunting what he must while not giving a damn what others think of him or what he does. Well, if that's true then all I can say is - GOOD! Very, very, very good. This portrayal seems to me a far more true depiction of what the real Spiderman would have to be like if there were a real Spiderman. I am extremely pleased by what I saw and think I will enjoy this film greatly. My youngest daughter is already begging me to take her to see it. I definitely will.
