Where in the world did you get that idea? Most people need that money for day-to-day life. A CG character could probably justify it if the person had vastly more gold than he would ever need, and a NG character might even help him if that gold was going to go to some good purpose (to a poor healing temple, or to the families the evil duke has put out of their homes, etc), but a NG character isn't just going to steal from people for no reason.  NG will do the most right and altruistic thing possible. If the druidess detected as an evil creature and was in the process of harming your party.. you should wade right in there. You might wait and see what she was going to do, but by the fact that she IS Evil, most of her acts are going to serve an evil purpose in some way, shape, form or fashion.</blockquote>
