Okay, so now that Disintegrate does damage dice instead of outright destroying the target, does that mean that Disintegrate can crit?

Of course, sneak attacks or not, a critical hit with a Disintigrate still isn't as good as your opponent failing their save against your Finger of Death. But all those dice are some fun.

I think they changed that because disintegrate is no death spell, like finger of death. No death effect, and can even harm undead and constructs - and people with death ward...

And it can open gates and walls real fast. Faster than a barbarian with the new Power Attack!

Only if they are not usin adamantine weapons. My offline group refers to that random adamantine bastard sword that we found as our "fire axe."
