Between time travel already being a thing in DL, WotC's likely desire to get rid of some problematic issues, the War of the Lance being the most beloved part of DL's timeline, it's quite possible to create a forking timeline (due to this new, "strong protagonist") to where some details of the Chronicles can be altered while also providing a blank canvas for post WotL play. Like I said, this is as much me hoping as guessing. There's very little information to go on, but I assume that WotC is going to have a tie-product (likely as a setting book or adventure path) and they may want a blank slate for new players (rather than cataclysm after cataclysm after cataclysm after Cataclysm).</blockquote>
