Re: stealing, well, up until this whole debacle I would also have said the chances of WotC not having the OGL for 1D&D were pretty low, and the chances of them deleting the OGL from existence would have been totally unbelievable. And yet here we are. So "what would they steal" isn't something I've really considered. But I don't think a company willing to basically nuke an industry from orbit is going to be terribly hesitant if they see a good/popular idea, and given they've made it extremely clear in the OGL: Commercial that they can do it, they'll have hordes of defenders/fans saying it's "TOTALLY FINE THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE GETTING INTO!!!" and so on. I also think the whole 3D VTT with microtransactions thing makes stealing cool/zeitgeist-y stuff potentially a lot more attractive. Fortnite has a ton of stuff in it that's zeitgeist-y and inspired by what's going on, for sale as microtransactions. It's got into a few lawsuits over that (won 'em all though) and has a ton of licensed stuff. This would let WotC skip licencing because they already have it. And they don't owe you a penny. If they choose to pay you anything it's out of the pure kindness of their hearts (ahem), or more accurately, because they don't want to look like TOTAL monsters.
