Hi Kisanji Arael, thank you for your comments. I'm sorry it took me so long to respond, but I've been exceptionally busy with work issues the last few days. I admit that I do have some concerns myself on the relative power of the Blade of Pure Thought. Before I get into how I'll be toning it down, I'd just like to go a little into the design philosophy behind all my paladin multiclass PrCs. These PrCs are intended to give paladins the flavor of multiclassing into another base class. As such, the abilities they gain are very closely tied to the abilities gained by that base class, but they are given a "paladin" twist. For example, the Celestial Steward (based off the druid) summons and wild shapes into celestial animals and good outsiders. In the case of the soulknife, the "paladin" twist was that the character's mind blade becomes the archetypal paladin weapon, the holy avenger. The problem, as you noticed, was that the PrC has to enhance the mind blade at double the rate compared to the standard soulknife progression because this has to happen over 10 levels instead of 20. Perhaps what can be done to balance this is to make the mind blade also subject to the character level limitations of the Imprint Weapon ability, but to increase the chatacter's effective level when imprinting his mind blade. In balancing Pang and Stab of Conscience, I also had the goal of not taking away too much from the soulknife's Knife to the Soul. I still think they are quite fair as they are usable against evil opponents only, and Pang of Conscience has a saving throw. By the time the Blade of Pure Thought gets Stab of Conscience, he should be at least 12th level, only one level below when a Soulknife gets Knife to the Soul, and he can only ever do 2 points of mental ability damage with a single use of the ability. In addition, I agree with your comments that Imbue Smite should only last 24 hours (or until the character's ability to smite evil is renewed). As for blackguards, I suppose they could trade in levels of this PrC for Soulknife levels, if they have that ability. I'm not inclined to write up another PrC just for that purpose :). The PrC does not increase the abilities of a paladin's mount, beyond allowing the character to share Speed of Thought with it.
