They're reputable, so I recommend it. The only book I question is the Player's Handbook, which seems to only be available in the "Limited Edition Preview" version. As far as I know, that version has a bunch of "errors" that don't agree with the published PHB, so I don't recommend it. The other books, though, such as the <a href="http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=1255&" target="_blank">Star*Drive campaign setting</a>, are all good, so check 'em out.If you prefer hard copies, your best bet these days is probably <a href="http://search.ebay.com//search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=Alternity" target="_blank">eBay</a>. Here is <a href="http://home.flash.net/~brenfrow/al/al.htm" target="_blank">a list of all the published Alternity books</a>, with covers and descriptions. This might be useful if you want some help finding some of these out-of-print books, or just want to look at the pretty covers.Here is a link to an Alternity campaign called <a href="http://www.geocities.com/area51/starship/7584/index.html" target="_blank">VoidRunner</a>. It is not Star*Drive, but it has some nice overviews on the standard Alternity aliens, which might be of interest. As well as an intro to Star*Drive.Apparently, Alternity is still going on strong in the fan world. Here is a link to <a href="http://alternityrpg.net/" target="_blank">AlternityRPG.net</a>. Here is a Star*Drive site (<a href="http://www.tequilastarrise.net/" target="_blank">Tequilla Starrise</a>) which appears to be pretty fancy and still active (unlike many of the other links, some of which are more than 6 years old...) Various character record sheets and other helpful sheets can be found <a href="http://www.tequilastarrise.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownload&cid=15" target="_blank">here</a>. <a href="http://www.geocities.com/scott_metz/" target="_blank">Scott Metz</a> has an excellent collection of RPG material, including links to <a href="http://www.geocities.com/scott_metz/alternity/about.html" target="_blank">an overview of Alternity</a> and some <a href="http://www.geocities.com/scott_metz/alternity/newstuff.html" target="_blank">extra stuff</a> like alternate rules, enhancements and character sheets. Here is something called <a href="http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Ring/3031/index.htm" target="_blank">the Weren homepage</a>. It has a name generator and some vocabulary. I highly recommend picking up a DVD of this series and watching it before seeing the upcoming movie. It sounds like Firefly is going to be a close model to how this campaign is shaping up.)
