Origin: During the siege of Meteor Island, a elven hippogrif rider pirated a ship intent on supplying the humans and orcs of the meteor mines. Voxado, an avenger of Arawai and avid hippogrif rider, sails the ship across Crater Lake to the settlement of Bobcat Hill. He is happy to bring supplies to his own settlement. Upon arrival, the inventory is done. It is a supply ship of ale, breads, dried meat, and pickled pig feet. A lot of pickled pig feet. The elves of Bobcat Hill are not thrilled to have an abundance of pickled pig feet. However, the pickled pig feet would not be wasted. Splurg, a goblin of the knightly order, Guardians of the Rift, announce that the goblins of Shadowfell Keep would love to have the pickled pigs feet. Splurg explained that pickled pigs feet are a delicacy among goblins because normally, the goblins cannot wait long enough for them to be pickled and eat the pigs feet raw. When a goblin does have restraint enough to wait on the pickled pigs feet, it is brought out for celebration. Splurg insisted a celebration be had the very next day, April 1st. The elves of Bobcat Hill had become endeared to the goblins of Shadowfell Keep, especially since Voxado had successfully turned the goblins into a cult of Arawai, teaching the goblins to tend to crops and hunt deer, instead of pillaging and fighting amongst themselves. Every year from then on, on April 1st, the Pickled Pigs Feet Festival was held. The Festival: The Pickled Pigs Feet Festival is held every year on April 1st in Bobcat Hill. Everyone attending the festival is asked to bring a piece of junk that they no longer want and you may take a piece of junk that someone else has brought. "What may be junk to you, might be a platinum piece to me," Splurg was heard to say has he greedily bit into a large pickled pig foot. It is not very often you see elves and goblins celebrating together, but this combination makes for an interesting gathering. I figured somebody might enjoy a fun festival read. Hope you enjoy and feel free on helping to organize next year's festival by sharing your thoughts.
