Slightly less humorously, I am hoping for some good wandering monster tables. After all, I still have my old wandering prostitute table, and the rules haven't really changed enough on that regard that I need a new one. It still works just fine.

I agree, but conversion rules for Boot Hill and Gamma World are equally important.

Think I might use Appendix D, the random lower planes creature tables, for inhabitants of Kythri, the plane of chaos in my Eberron game.

See, this is the stuff I missed out on by playing B/X D&D instead of AD&D, isn't it?

Seriously, I know some folks decry "random" tables of all kinds, but I find that they sometimes prompt my imagination when I'm stuck for an idea. I'd love to see some good "Random NPC motivation" tables or "Random Local Rumor" tables - maybe not in the DMG, but as part of some kind of DM's resource. (Anyone know of a good site online for stuff like this - it sounds like something that should be out there).

Seriously, I know some folks decry "random" tables of all kinds, but I find that they sometimes prompt my imagination when I'm stuck for an idea.

Of course, they don't have to be random. I used to look over the random dungeon dressing tables, but I never rolled on them.

I dislike the wandering prostitute table. Everyone knows that most prostitutes don't wander, they have their corner they like to work.
